Intelligent Compaction is definitely needs attention in future work involving rovers. It seems there are more "yes" than "no". This method would be especially effective on the big grading jobs where special compaction would be required. Or where client would specified standard compaction number. Potential problem in utilizing IC is that contractor on many occasions using heavy pneumatic tire equipment to achieve compaction. Overcompaction/Undercompaction is a problem and IC would address it the best. I think it would benefit Kapur to initiate meeting with manufacturer's rep at US41 office. DOT staff and other companies staff involved in US41 should be invited. US41 will have a rover (or should have a rover by contract).
IC could also be played as emissions reducer.
